Sam Books a Spot in the Second Round of Eastbourne June 16, 2009 In his first round match on Monday, Sam took on Paul Capdeville of Chile at the AEGON International in Eastbourne. Sam got off to a quick start in the first set, winning it 6-2 with two breaks of serve against Capdeville, but the second set proved to be a bit tougher with both players holding their service games until 5-5. Eventually, Sam won the second set 7-5 against Capdeville to book a spot on the second round of the AEGON International. Up next, Sam will take on Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan (who he has never played before in an ATP event) and the two will be back in action on Wednesday.
